Fawk you to the payroll dept. at work! Because of your fuck up direct deposit didn't get deposited, which left me short on money, which meant I ended up getting hit with 4, count them 4, fucking overdraft charges. And what is your response when I say something to you - "To bad". Seriously my head almost popped off I was so pissed! I guess Monday I get to go over your head to the big boss. I am not going to be charged over $100 because of your fuck up!
Last night I was caught like a deer in head lights by damn reality TV! It drew me in so I couldn't look away and it made me watch episode after episode. And damn it it wasn't even a fist pumping good time type train wreck! It was that new flippin Sister Wives show! I was watching Say Yes to the Dress while sewing last night and next thing I know this twisted show was on and I couldn't look away! So twisted and bizarre to me. It was like watching firefighters pulling bodies out of wreckage, you know you shouldn't look but you just can't stop!
I seriously don't understand how these people find this normal, it just seems so odd. And the fact that their house was built by another polygamist with separate "houses" for each wife under one roof just blew my mind. Then they go and bring another wife and her kids into their "family". Those poor kids going from a mom and a day to being thrown into that situation and now having 3 other "moms" a new dad and 12 "brothers and sisters". Wow. Just wow!
Well it is that time of year - HALLOWEEN!!!!!
I love love love Halloween! Such a fun "holiday"! (No I don't consider Halloween it self a holiday. I consider Samhain and All Saints' Day holidays, but not Halloween. Halloween is a fun event that happens to correspond with those holidays. Ok I need to stop now so I don't get into the whole made up holiday debate right now since this is supposed to be a fun post.)
Anyway, just like any good family we made our annual pilgrimage to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard!
We had a blast! I was a lot of fun watching sweet potato run around trying to pick up all the different pumpkins. Plus he had fun helping us pick apples. I was a little disappointed about the apple crop. They only had Red Delicious and Empire apples left to pick. I guess in the spring we had a very late frost (around Mother's Day is was told) that killed almost 65% of their crop. That is a ton of loss! But we got to go pick some apples (luckily - since I was told that was going to be the last day that the orchard was going to be open to the public!)

I took my little hellion sweet potato to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live! on Friday afternoon and I survived we had a blast.
Sweet potato had so much fun! Especially after I bought him a rip-off cool flashing light stick, since all the kids around us had one and you know I can't be that loser mom and not get one too.
He loved Biz's Beat of the day with Biz Markie!
He even got a complement form the crazy nice mommy two rows back. He was keeping up the beat box right along with Biz when she decided to yell out "That little white boy gots rhythm!". Haha!
He had a blast seeing his favorite characters in person.
Well he had fun I was left scratching my head on a few things. For our Dancey Dance special guest we had Leslie Hall - The Midwest Diva? Who? Seriously? Never heard of her.

And for the "Super Music Friend Show" the guest was Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Again who???
Seriously Detroit is a big city and so well know for its music they couldn't find someone better, maybe a bit well known to guest star. That was a bit stupidunfair of a let down for the parents.
Overall after I took a painkiller for my headache we had a blast. Sweet potato had fun and isn't that all that really matters after-all?!?!?!

I'm sure most of you have read about a particular family in need. It's been posted on my blog so many and so many others. The amount of compassion that has poured out has been overwhelming to say the least. However, it has been brought to the blogsphere attention that some of the details may have been misconstrued. Ashlee explains it in depth HERE, if you care to read it. I just wanted to pass this on because I don't want to misrepresent in any way, shape, or form.
I absolutely love shopping at CSN Stores! I can spend hours just searching the sites for one awesome thing after another.
For this review I decide to get a new down duvet, actually my cats decided for me when I found that one of them had torn a hole in my old one and were eating/playing with the feathers. I guess that's what I get for storing it in a place they can get to and not in anything. Stupid me.
Let me just say really quick that this thing is the shit!
As always the ordering process on CSN's website was a breeze. I was originally a bit disappointed in the shipping going to take almost 2 weeks but once I got it I realized that it shipped from Canada and had to go through customs, a bit more understandable. But damn I live 25 minutes from the Detroit / Windsor boarder and would have been able to pick it up over there in a lot quicker time then it took to get to me. Not their fault just those freakin customs agents hold up so much stuff! (Sorry partial vent from my job and having to ship things to Canada).
But anyway back on topic - my new duvet!
Can I just say this thing arrived just in time - we are having a major cold snap here in southeast Michigan, like going down to the high 30s at night - brrrr. So I ripped that bad boy open and threw it right on the bed for the night!
I was so nice and warm that night, it was soooo soooo nice! I really like the actual material the duvet is made out of. It's very soft and not shinny like some duvets I've seen. If it wasn't for my 2 cats and the runny nose monster I call my son, I might actually consider leaving it without a duvet cover. But alas I can't. Oh well.
I am very happy with my new duvet and CSN Stores in general!

Oh, my Gucci babies, I've been staring at this blank screen for almost an hour trying to figure out where to start. I don't know how to fix this; I can't fix this and I don't know how to deal with something I can't fix.
I am devastated.
I hate being helpless. I hate seeing my loved ones hurting and struggling and being powerless to take the pain away. I can't fix this. I can't fix cancer. I can't heal it. But I can help with the struggles this family faces. And so can you.
I've known Renee a few years. Though I've moved out of state and we haven't seen each other in quite sometime, I just love her. She is sweet and loyal and smart and talented and strong. She is a giver, a fixer, a helper. Her heart is as beautiful as her face. She loves fiercely, she works without ceasing, and she sacrifices without complaint.
And her husband has been diagnosed with a very aggressive cancer. He was the sole breadwinner and is now too sick to work. We all know the state of the economy. We all know how difficult it is to find work and to complicate things for Renee, willing as she is to do whatever she must to keep her family afloat while her husband fights for his life, she homeschools her three children, one of whom is autistic. She's been a homemaker for so many years and when employers have the luxury of choice, as they do now, they are not interested in a woman who's been out of the workforce so long.
They have lost their house. They are currently living in an RV in the parking lot of the hospital where her husband is being treated. Because they have no running water, Renee and her children are going to Sassy's house, which is thankfully close by, week after week to fill buckets and jugs with fresh water. The children are growing rapidly out of their clothes, and the clothes they do have are becoming worn with use.
Right now the hospital is generously allowing them to keep their RV in the parking lot and use their electricity, but this is a temporary solution to what is rapidly becoming a permanent problem. And winter is coming. Montana winters are cruel and long.
The amazing thing about Renee is, she remains hopeful. She finds the good in the midst of this nightmare she faces. She squares her shoulders and raises her chin in the face of this overwhelming adversity even though the stress of this situation must be almost intolerable. She is holding her family together, taking care of her husband, teaching her children, and trying to make a home out of a travel trailer parked in a hospital parking lot while stretching six hundred dollars a month to feed and clothe a family of five.
If this was your family, or someone you dearly love... Can you imagine?

As sick as it sounds I am actually really looking forward to this. I know my little sweet potato will love it! He loves the show on TV. I can't wait to watch him bop around to the music. Plus I'm curious who the special guest will be! I've heard some other cities have had great guests like The Aquabats, Zac Brown, Drive-By Truckers, Jon Heder, of Napoleon Dynamite fame. I'm hoping we get some one equally as cool. Maybe Eminen? He is from around here and he does have 2 young daughters. Hmm who else, Kid Rock maybe, or even go classic with some Bob Seger. Just some ideas.
I'll let you know if I survive how it goes and who our awesome Dancey Dance guest is after the show!
