As most of you know I've had some ms issues going on a while ago. Well just when i got through one flare I had another. This one was more serious and has caused issues with my vision, so it's been really hard to do much of anything on the computer. It has bummed me out because of all the other issues it has caused irl it has caused me to be really really behind in some great reviews and miss a bunch or awesome give aways i wanted to share.

So to any great PR reps I was working with - I am extremely sorry for not following up but unfortunately I have to take care of me first.

I hope all you wonderful ladies in the blog world are doing better than I have been. Take care of you and hopefully I will be able to get back around here again soon.

I can blog from my phone!

Well the new job doesn't allow me internet access and having a never stopping 2 year old at home I haven't been able to post :(
But I found an app for my new phone that allows me to blog! That makes me very happy and hopefully it makes you happy too.

Thursday, March 10, 2011

I'm here but I'm not.

As I mentioned last week I started a new job this week! Great news! I love it! But I have limited internet access - aka no blogger :( Not cool. Hopefully I will be able to get the "work around" set up on my machine in the next few weeks that I keep being told about, so I can get on during my lunch hour. But for now I will just be popping in at night when I can squeeze in a few minutes between getting sweet potato to be and getting to bed my self (which is 8pm right now since, one I have to get up at 5am! and two my MS is kicking my ass right now :( )

Five Question Friday

1. Can you drive a stick shift? Yes but not well! I grind gears a lot!

2. What are two foods you just can't eat? Liver and frog! Pretty self explanatory! I don't know how any one can eat either of those!

3. Do you buy Girl Scout Cookies? What is your favorite kind? Ooohhh yeah! My fav favs are Thanks A Lots but none of the troops around me sell them. My fav of the ones I can get is Do-si-doos!

4. How do you pamper yourself? Pedicures!!! Heaven!

5. What is your nickname and how did you get it? No nickname - how boring. :(

Blogger issues?

Is any one else having issues with Blogger?

On my dashboard in the blogs I flow area it's only showing a limited number of posts. Kind of odd. Any one else having similar issues?

I didn't run away!

Don't worry I didn't run away or get locked in one of the cells at the Royal Prison.  I've been busy, things are a changing! Mostly I GOT A NEW JOB! Happy dance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 weeks left in this place!

So between interviews and call ins with the new place and trying to keep things "normal" here, and work out new daycare arraignments,  and all the other fun stuff its been a bit hectic. Oh yeah and my sweet potato turns 2 this Saturday. Seriously 2! When the hell did that happen?!?! Wasn't it just yesterday I was being rushed to the OR to have him ripped out of me! Where the hell did time the go!

So yeah on top of the new job stuff, I have birthday party stuff going on. Which of course means the whole house has to be scrubbed from top to bottom, since I really don't feel like listening to the bitchy loving comments from the stuck up wonderful family members on how nice the house could be if I kept it up.

So I'm here and I will try to keep this up but please excuse me over the next few weeks if I am a bit sporadic on my posting.

Friday, February 11, 2011

Five Question Friday!

1. Would you rather be on ABC's Extreme Home MakeOver or TLC's What not to Wear?
Hmm - While I would like certain rooms in my house re-done, I wouldn't want it completely re-built. And I like parts of my style but would love a $5,000 shopping spree and to have my hair done by Nick. So definitely What Not to Wear!

2. Do you have any tattoos?
Yep - 4 of them and I have an appointment for a new large one on my side next month. I have 2 fariys on my lower back, Chinese symbols between my shoulder blades, a ladybug on a leaf on my hip and a ladybug on my ankle.

3. Do you tell your kids about things you did growing up?
While I will tell "When I was your age" stories, I wont tell them about a lot of things I did in high school. I wasn't exactly the best of kids.

4. If the traffic signal turns yellow, do you stop or speed up?
If it's nice out and I'm not running late - I stop. If the weather is icky or I'm in a hurry I speed up.

5. What's your preference: chocolate or chips?
Do I have to choose? I can't! There are times chocolate rules and times the salty chips win. Just depends.

Ugh What a week! Plus Balloonatiks Winner!

I know I haven't been a good blogger the last few weeks, but I've been having a rough go of it as of late. My MS monster has attacked my body horribly the last two weeks.  In no particular order I've dealt with major fatigue,  hand and arm numbness, the MS "hug" (It's not like your nice friendly hug, its more like my rib cage is being slowly crushed so it's hard to breathe), and the "joy" of being on steroids and the "awesome" joint pain that goes with them. To top all that off we two snow storms of 6+ inches of snow. A husband who's back has went out, who is working 40+ hrs a week plus going to school 3 nights a week, so he couldn't shovel the said snow and we don't have a snow blower. My munchkin has also been on steroids for his never ending cough, which thankfully has finally gone away, but made him one mean little boy. I've learned a new position at work, since the last person who did it quite. I'm getting ready for an interview for a new job tomorrow. Ugh!!! FML! Seriously I just want to curl up in bed for a few days and not have to deal with anyone of anything!

Ok I'm done with excuses - Now for the winner of the Balloonatiks DVD.

Raven in a Blue Room said "I like your blog on facebook"

Thank you Raven I will be contacting you shortly.

OK So hopefully back to more regularly scheduled blogging this week.

Beware!

Beware - The bitch is back! And not in the good way. I'm done being Mrs. nice, non-argumentative, do what you please, softy. I'm sick of getting walked on, stepped over and kicked, So No More! I tried being nice and since obviously certain people don't respond to that, I'll just go back to being a bitch. It has worked well for me in the past, so be it.

So I am warning you now. The bull shit I've been putting up with for the last year is being put to a stop now. And if you don't like it, to fucking bad! Either deal with it or get the fuck out! I'm done! Done, done, done!

So when you get bitch slapped either verbally or literally by me don't say I didn't warn you! (It's the last nice thing I'll be doing for a while!)

Oh and this lovely change of heart has set in just in time, I was just appointed to the wonderful position of Tazer Operator at The Royal State Prison! You mouthy bitches better beware cause I can get a little trigger happy from time to time!

My thanks to The Queen! Now I better get her this bottle of Gin before I down it myself!

Lolly Review

Looking for some cute and sassy panties? Lolly offers a fun selection of cotton-spandex seamless panties that are comfy, sexy and smart. Valentine's Day is approaching, these would make a great gift for yourself or a gal pal... or you could inconspicuously mention it to your Guy! Lolly also has some super fresh sayings, but I'll let you check those out for yourself!

About Lolly:
"Katie Kozloff, founder of Lolly, came up with the idea for her underwear company while she was attending graduate school. She and a friend were talking about what they were going to do after graduating with their MBAs. Katie thought of the idea of screen printed underwear with fun, sassy sayings across the backside. She started printing underwear with sayings like Hot Mama and Smarty Pants, and Lolly was born!"

My Take:
Love these, they are super comfortable, and super cute as well. I received the Lolly Boy Short Panties in "Hot Mamma" to try. They held up really well in the washer, which is great for a screen printed product. I like all the sayings on the panties, some are naughty and others are fun and cute. I'd consider purchasing these again, particular for a fun gift!

Oliver's Labels Review

Oliver's Labels - How Kids Stuff Finds Its Way Home! How cool is this - labels that can be traced!  That's right - they employ a special 'found it' system that links to your email and will help you coordinate getting little Joey's bookbag back and suzie's right shoe back where they belong!

How it began: (from Oliver's Labels Website)
"It all began with a small idea to keep Oliver, my nephew, from losing his stuff. After seeing the overwhelming positive reaction from his teachers and other parents, I realized there was a huge demand for high quality labels. I used my 6 years of experience in the printing industry to develop a label that was both durable and beautiful. The business was born and now our full-colour designs and exclusive Found-it™ tracking system are a few of the things that set Oliver's Labels apart from the competition." - Debbie

Please understand the labels I received included my son's and since I prefer not to share that here I have used Oliver's Labels stock photos.

They provide customized labels in a variety of sizes and styles:
~Original and mini labels for everything from books, toys, and cups to pencils, toothbrushes or silverware
~Shoe labels
~Iron-on labels for clothing, coats or blankets
~Large and mini bag tags
~Stick-eez™ Clothing Labels, which are an easy no-sew, no-iron solution to labeling clothing items

And the incredible Found-it! They give you the option of printing a Found-it tracking system code on your labels. This unique code connects you to your item via your email address. If you ever lose an item with a Found-it tracking system code, have no fear! When someone finds it they will be prompted to go to a special page on our website with instructions to enter the code on the label. We then match you to your Found-it tracking system code and send you a notification email right away. Oliver’s Labels acts as an intermediary between you and the finder so you never have to share any of your personal information!
My Take:
These labels are wonderful!  These things stick to everything and they hold, even if you put the item in the dishwasher, microwave, fridge, or washer! And add on Found-it makes these even that much better!

If you're in the market to label your kid - or yourself - I highly recommend checking out Oliver's Labels

Five Question Friday

1. Where did you meet your spouse and did you instantly know it was love?
We meet at a Pizza Hut a mutual friend managed one night when he was on leave (he was a Marine). It definitely not instantly love. The first time we meet neither one of us cared for each other (bad first impression both ways).  It wasn't until the next time he was back on leave that we clicked.

2. What is your favorite room in your house?
I love my kitchen. Not because I love cooking or anything like that but because we gutted it and redid it exactly how I wanted it. It is beautiful!

3. Can you wiggle your ears?
Nope

4. What is your evening ritual?
Hmm the only thing that is a ritual in our house is me falling asleep one the couch before 9pm while the hubby watches TV or does homework or plays video games.

5. How many hours of sleep do you need to function?
To function well - 7, minimum in order to get out of bed and do something 5.

Kidz Bop 19 Review

Kidz Bop is celebrating its 10th Anniversary in 2011! The best-selling kids' music series is kicking off a year-long birthday bash with the release of its latest album, Kidz Bop 19!

About It:
Get ready to sing, dance, and be a star! The all-new KIDZ BOP 19 is here, and it has all the latest songs you’ve been asking for, sung by kids for kids.

Today's Biggest Hits Sung By Kids for Kids
Song List:
DJ Got Us Falling In Love
Firework

Dynamite
Cooler Than Me
Airplanes
Club Can't Handle Me
Bulletproof
Animal
Just A Dream

Mine
Please Don't Go
The Time
The Only Exception

My Take:
I love how the folks at Kidz Bop make the lyrics kid-friendly. These are songs that I listen to in the car on a daily basis so when I learned that they were making a kid friendly version I had to have it. I really enjoy these songs and love how I can listen to the CD in the car and have sweet potato enjoy them also.

Applied Labels Review

Applied Labels has thought of something really impressive in this mom's book - dishwasher friendly labels! So when applied labels asked me to sample their product, I jumped at it. With sweet potato in daycare and going to different "social" events I have been looking for labels that could withstand washing on sippy cups or snack containers. Applied Labels promised all this!

About Applied Labels (from their website):
The sleek, clean, sharp, classic alternative to labels that shout.
Our extraordinarily tough labels are dishwasher & laundry safe.
Award Winning Products. Lead, BPA &; DEHP Free. Made in the USA!

Extremely tough and ultra versatile, they're perfect for labeling everything from bottles, sippies and shoes to school supplies, gadgets, summer camp gear and all those little things that go to early childcare centers. Available with and without icons or with a second line of custom print. Great for grown-ups too!

Ultra Durable & Dishwasher-Safe
Permanent Adhesive & Ink
High Resolution & Perfectly Sized: 1.5" x 0.5"

My Take:
These labels are dishwasher friendly! I washed sweet potato's sippy cup (top shelf) and the label showed no sign of peeling or tearing like you would with most other sticker labels. Usually just the getting wet part would cause a label to peel away. So it stood the test of washing and this product is definitely mommy approved!
I was given 52 labels with my son's name on them and that will probably last me a year since they last so well.

Please understand the labels I received included my son's and since I prefer not to share that here I have used Applied Labels stock photos.

Check Them Out:
On the web and on Twitter

Balloonatiks Review and Giveaway

I recently had an opportunity to review the "Balloonatiks: The Collectors" DVD. If you haven't heard of the Balloonatiks, let me tell you a little bit about them; AND how you can win a "Balloonatiks: The Collectors" DVD for yourself.

Who are the Balloonatiks?:
The Balloonatiks (Flator, Squeeker, Airbrain, Sparky, and Bouncer) are five ordinary teens that were mysteriously transformed into rubbery, shape-stretching super heroes who take on the evil-doers that dare to threaten Hot Air City.

What my son liked about the Balloonatiks:
When we first got the DVD my son saw the movie and wanted to watch it right away. The theme song that plays at the beginning of the movie had my kids up and dancing, I noticed that the voice sounded familar and learned that it is Ray Parker Jr. singing (the guy that sings the theme song to Ghostbusters). It was hilarious to see my son laughing during almost the entire DVD. Immediately after it ended he to watch it again.` Both cartoons are filled with off the wall zaniness, bizarre super villians, wild sight-gags and Over the top Heroics. We all enjoyed the Balloonatiks DVD and my only complaint is that I wish they had more movies!

Also for the older kids they can visit the Balloonatiks website which has information on all the characters, games, and even science experiements that kids can do at home. If you have kids this is a great site for them to look around and have some fun. They also have a store where you can purchase Balloonatiks gear, books and more.

What I liked about the Balloonatiks!:
They are fun! They have wacky sense of humors and each of the characters has a special ability, such as the ability to create static electricity. After visiting the Ballonatiks website (www.balloonatiks.com), we learned that each character also has a set of likes and dislikes which includes exercise, eating healthy, science and math (likes), and bullies, mean people, and people who are late. There's still enough "real" kids likes and dislikes to interest real kids – i.e. disliking being without pizza, homework and losing.

The characters are wonderfully drawn and animated in bright colors to appeal to younger kids; and the soundtrack and the adventures they get into will appeal to older kids.

Buy it:
You can purchase your own Balloonatiks: Collector's Set DVD on Amazon for $14.99.
